Creative writing with a twist
What a year! I've been published a few more times and have been getting some really good feedback, so I have built another site, with the great help of my very talented father in law. This site is dedicated to my published works. I am no longer using my pseudonym of Chillybaltic because I now wish for my published works to be recognizable as my own. Please enjoy reading these articles, and I welcome any feedback!
My previous site uses the Pseudonym Chillybaltic. There is a link at the top of the page to access this original site, should you wish too. I'll admit, Chillybaltic is not your average pseudonym employed by writers these days. I'll even go as far as to admit that it is somewhat 'off the wall'. However, in order to understand the name, I must explain a few things. Upon my arrival way back in 2001 to the University of Aberdeen, I was not prepared for the bone chilling cross wind mixed with immense gusts of freezing spray coming off the North Sea.
As a freshman student I was required to sign up for an email account only I would know. I combined chilly (wind) with baltic (Northern Irish slang phrase to explain how cold it was) and there we have the beginnings of Chillybaltic. I felt this name was also rather apt, as I also have a passion for hot Chilli Con Carne!
I started writing when I was very young. I always received favourable and encouraging comments back regarding my writing style, and this gave me the push I needed to start writing in earnest. At school, I excelled in written subjects such as English Literature and English Language, and did rather well in other more demanding literary subjects such as Latin. I lived for books, and most lunchtimes I could be found reading the latest releases in a comfortable chair in a corner of the library. I was the archetypal 'geek'.
I am very lucky to have met a fellow literature lover in my wife, whose intelligence and IQ far exceeds my own! I am a published author, and though I write mainly from experience, I do also try to include some fictional writing.I have a personal approach to writing and combine this with a touch of wit for a more realistic reading experience.
Anyway, thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy my articles
